Misuse of the word Mecca is a pet peeve of mine, but when author Gianni Simone describes Tokyo as a Mecca of otaku culture in his book Tokyo Geek’s Guide, I find myself fervor with which anime and manga fans spread their fandom is akin to religious : Adam Pasion.

Most of the book is dedicated to telling about different areas of Japan that anime geeks would like to visit and detailing the different stores in those areas that are. But it’s good to stretch one’s boundaries now and again and I’ve slowly been making my way through the Tokyo Geek’s Guide by Gianni Simone.
